AromaX is a private, offline-first scent journal designed to help you record what you wear, remember how it felt, and create personal scent cards on your device.
Effective Date: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AromaX ("AromaX", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the AromaX application (the "App").
AromaX is a personal, local-first scent journal for perfume lovers. You can record perfume wears, add private thoughts, attach photographs or voice memos, favorite entries, create review cards, and export visual cards.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with the AromaX Terms of Use available inside the App under Me > Legal.
AromaX is designed so that personal journal information is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad rather than being uploaded to an AromaX-operated cloud service.
Depending on the features you use, locally stored information may include:
This information is used to provide the corresponding features of the App and is not intended to be uploaded to an AromaX-operated account or cloud database.
AromaX does not require you to create an online account.
During onboarding, the App may ask you to enter a display name. This display name creates a local profile for use within the App. It does not create an online account.
AromaX does not require an email address or password for normal use.
The App does not provide cloud synchronization for journal entries, photos, voice memos, cards, favorites, or other personal journal information.
When you create a perfume wear, AromaX may store information that you choose to enter, including:
This information is used to display, organize, filter, favorite, edit, delete, and generate cards from your personal journal.
AromaX does not use the content of your private journal entries as public social content.
AromaX may request access to your device camera when you actively choose to take a photograph for a scent journal entry or note.
Camera access is not required for basic journal functionality.
The camera is not accessed continuously or in the background. The App requests access in connection with the corresponding camera action.
Photos captured through the camera are used for the journal feature you requested and are intended to remain locally stored.
You can manage Camera permission through your device's system settings.
AromaX uses the system photo picker when you choose to attach an existing photo to a scent note.
AromaX may also request Photos access with Add Only authorization when you choose to save a generated card to your Photos library.
The Add Only permission is used specifically to allow the App to save an exported card to the Photos library.
If you deny the Photos permission, you can continue using other features of the App. You simply may not be able to save exported cards to Photos until the required permission is granted.
AromaX may request microphone permission when you actively start recording a voice memo attached to a journal note.
Microphone access is optional. It is not required to create perfume wears, write text thoughts, favorite entries, build reviews, or generate cards.
Voice recordings created through the App are intended to be stored locally on your device and used as part of the corresponding journal entry.
AromaX does not operate a cloud voice-recording service for your personal voice memos.
You may manage microphone permission through your device settings.
AromaX may request notification permission as an optional feature for journal-related reminders or other local convenience features.
Notifications are not required to use the core journal, Picks, Review, or card-generation features.
If you deny notification permission, the App remains usable.
You can change notification permissions at any time through your device settings.
AromaX may request authorization through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework for purposes related to attribution or promotional measurement associated with optional Atelier Points Store promotions.
The App Tracking Transparency prompt is optional. AromaX does not require tracking authorization for its journal, Picks, Review, or card-generation features.
If you deny App Tracking Transparency authorization, AromaX continues to work. Any tracking-related activity requiring authorization will be handled according to Apple's applicable framework and your permission choice.
You can review or change tracking permissions through your device settings.
On first launch, AromaX may include bundled example perfume wears and sample authors for onboarding and inspiration.
Sample entries and sample authors are fictional examples. They are not real users, real accounts, or live community members.
Sample entries are clearly labeled within the App.
Sample content is bundled with the App or generated from predefined local data. It is not submitted to AromaX by an online community.
You may remove all bundled sample data through:
Removing sample data affects the copy stored on your device and does not submit an online deletion request because the sample content is not a live online user account.
AromaX may provide Report Content and Block Author controls for bundled sample journal cards.
Because AromaX does not provide live user-generated public content, these controls operate locally on your device.
When you report sample content:
When you block a sample author, the corresponding sample content can be hidden locally according to the App's current functionality.
AromaX is a personal utility and is not a social network.
The App does not provide:
Your private journal content is therefore not automatically published to other AromaX users.
AromaX allows you to favorite perfume wears and maintain a personal Picks shelf.
Favorite status and Picks organization are stored locally and are used to help you access your preferred journal entries.
AromaX does not publish your Picks shelf to other users.
AromaX may generate a 7-day Week Review or a 30-day Month Review using information already contained in your local journal.
The App may use local journal information such as:
This information is used to create your requested review card.
AromaX does not need to upload your journal to a remote server in order to build these review cards.
AromaX may generate Export Image cards, Week Review cards, and Month Review cards from your local journal.
Generated cards are intended to remain locally available unless you explicitly choose to save or share them.
When you choose to save a card to Photos, the operating system's Photos framework handles the requested save operation.
When you choose to share a card using the system share sheet, the content is transferred to the destination you select.
Once you voluntarily transfer content to another application or service, that service's own terms and privacy practices may apply.
AromaX offers optional consumable Atelier Points for certain card-generation actions.
Journal logging and private annotations remain free.
The first two qualifying card generations are complimentary. After the complimentary allowance has been used, card generation may consume Atelier Points according to the rates displayed in the App.
| Feature | Cost After Complimentary Allowance |
|---|---|
| Export Image | 30 Atelier Points |
| Week Review | 40 Atelier Points |
| Month Review | 55 Atelier Points |
Available consumable products include:
The exact price displayed at the time of purchase is determined through Apple's App Store purchasing system and may vary by country or region.
Atelier Points are consumable and are not a subscription.
Purchases of Atelier Points are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system.
AromaX does not receive or store your payment card number, Apple Account password, or other payment credentials used by Apple to process a transaction.
After Apple confirms a successful transaction, the corresponding Atelier Points may be credited to the local balance maintained by the App.
Because Atelier Points are consumable, they are not restored through a standard restore-purchases mechanism after they have been consumed.
Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices may apply to transactions made through the App Store.
A new installation of AromaX may receive a promotional allowance of 100 welcome Atelier Points for testing card-generation functionality.
Welcome Points are a local promotional balance associated with the installation and are not a cash equivalent.
Welcome Points cannot be exchanged for money and do not represent a subscription or financial account.
AromaX is designed to minimize the use of third-party online services.
Apple services may process information when you:
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. AromaX does not control the privacy practices of third-party services you choose to use.
Your personal journal information remains stored locally for as long as it remains on your device or until you delete it.
You can edit or delete your own journal entries and associated information using the controls provided in the App.
You can remove bundled sample data using:
Deleting the App may remove locally stored AromaX data according to the behavior of the operating system.
Copies that you intentionally save to Photos, device backups, or other locations may remain after deleting information from AromaX and are subject to the controls of those services.
AromaX's local-first architecture reduces the need to transmit personal journal information to an AromaX-operated server.
However, no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The security of locally stored information may depend on your device passcode, biometric protection, operating-system security, backups, and other device-level controls.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your device.
Because AromaX does not provide cloud synchronization for your personal journal, we cannot guarantee recovery of locally stored information after device loss, device failure, accidental deletion, operating-system events, storage problems, or deletion of the App.
You should maintain appropriate backups of information that is important to you using the backup facilities available on your device.
AromaX is a general-purpose personal journaling utility and does not require an online account.
We do not knowingly use AromaX to establish online accounts or public profiles for children.
Parents and guardians should supervise device permissions, in-app purchases, Photos access, microphone access, notifications, and sharing features where appropriate.
You can control the permissions requested by AromaX through your device settings.
The App remains usable when optional permissions are denied, although the corresponding feature may not be available.
AromaX may be distributed and used in different countries and regions.
Because the App is local-first, personal journal information is primarily stored on your device.
Apple and other services that you intentionally use may process information according to their own policies and infrastructure.
We may update this Privacy Policy when AromaX's features, legal requirements, platform requirements, or privacy practices change.
The latest version may be made available inside the App under Me > Legal.
The effective date shown at the beginning of this Privacy Policy identifies the current version.
